What is PRK?

Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) is similar to LASIK vision correction. It corrects conditions related to nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism by changing the shape of the cornea so light will focus properly on the retina.

Because there is no corneal flap created during PRK, this procedure is suitable for patients with corneas that are too thin or too curved to be an ideal candidate for traditional LASIK. PRK is also a great option for individuals with career restrictions, such as those outlined for certain assignments in the armed forces. Several active duty members have trusted their laser vision correction to Boling Vision Center, so we are equipped to work with your professional requirements.
