With the variety of specialty lenses available today, you may want to have several different types of lenses to maximize your vision and protect your eyes in a multitude of situations. Our Optique Eyewear department carries the following specialty lens options:
Occupational Lenses
Occupational lenses can be tailored to your specific needs. They allow clear vision within a typical two to fifteen feet: up and down, side-to-side and all viewing angles in between. The multifocal lens is designed with multiple prescriptions to allow for reading and mid-range vision.
Computer Lenses
Computer vision syndrome is a real condition that can lead to eye strain, blurry vision, redness and more. Computer glasses help reduce glare from computer monitors and help minimize the eye strain that comes from looking at a monitor for extended amounts of time. We carry Shamir Office™ lenses to help computer workers protect their eyes.
Golf Lenses
While not guaranteed to lower your golf score, specialty golf sunglasses are designed to maximize viewing at three distances: up close for scorecard viewing, mid-range for connecting with the ball, and distance to watch your ball soar down the fairway. These lenses can be designed with UV protection, scratch resistance, polarization or other lens treatments.
Anti-Fatigue Lenses
These lenses are designed for people who suffer from eye discomforts due to artificial lighting and looking at smart phones, computers, televisions, etc. Anti-fatigue lenses can help reduce end-of-the-day blurry vision, heaviness and headaches.
BluTech® Lenses
BluTech lenses filter high energy blue light from indoor sources like electronic screens and fluorescent lights as well as from outdoor sunlight. Glare is also reduced and color perception is maintained. These lenses may also help prevent macular degeneration later in life.
Polycarbonate Lenses
Polycarbonate lenses are excellent for sports safety glasses and children’s glasses because they are lightweight, protective, tough and impact-resistant. They also provide UV protection.
High-Index Lenses
If you have a strong prescription, high-index lenses are a lightweight, thin lens option. These can eliminate the need for extra thick lenses which can be uncomfortable and unattractive in certain frame styles.
Prism Correction Lenses
If you suffer from double vision (diplopia), a prism correction lens may be able to correct this condition for some patients. By helping the eyes work together, these lenses can greatly improve vision.
